Well, there’s a lot of waste in production that can really add up. Overproduction is the big one - making more than you need. Then there’s inventory, like having too much stuff sitting around unprocessed. Defects are another waste - when something isn’t right and has to be fixed or thrown out. Motion is wasted energy when people have to move around too much to do their job. Over-processing means doing more work than necessary on something, and waiting is just that - waiting for materials or machines or whatever it may be. Transportation adds up too, like moving stuff from one place to another unnecessarily. And there are other forms of waste as well!
